Who are We?
We are a community of people rooted in the belief that each of us hold the responsibility of tending to the gardens that make us up: the physical, energetic, and mental - our bodygardens of our bodyheartminds. We are grounded in the knowing that we are not completely free until every person here on Earth is free. If we are Nature, then we ought to seek the connectedness that exists in the natural world amongst ourselves as human beings. The work we do on ourselves is not only for our own liberation, but for the liberation for all.
As human being Earth dwellers, our inherent nature is cyclical - mirroring Mother Nature’s cycles of life, death and rebirth, as we shift through the seasons in our own physiology, psyche, and energy. These might take years, months, days, hours or even minutes. We are Nature.
Standing in a garden, instantly we could see or feel the embodiment of the current season: the beauty, the magic, the struggle, and the decay - all of which are down to the intelligence of Nature and her inherent regenerative and restorative healing abilities. Mother Nature’s web of connectivity in the soils beneath our feet models the responsibility we have towards each other as human beings. Mycelium, roots, plants and trees are in constant communication, offering each other nourishment and protection. The rain, wind, sun, and moon balance out the effects of each other’s energies in the ongoing cycles of time. Along with the animal kingdom, this continuous process of finding a harmonious output (as possible) can work within a single garden alone, in the relationships of one garden to another, and ultimately in everything that is part of the natural world - including us.
Re-imagining ourselves as gardens, each of us with our own unique embodiment, we can understand how our gardens and their cycles affect one another. Much like gardens, we, too, are interconnected but in our own human ways. We are connected through our own ancestral lineages. The atoms in our human bodies reveal the same makeup as stars, connecting us all the way back to when humankind first came into existence. We are interconnected through our behaviours extending to: 1) our physical interactions with one another, 2) the intention, values and execution behind our personally contained actions within our environments, and 3) through our emotions and the energy they bring, give off, and absorb from one another and our environments. Our behaviour is affected by our level of awareness. Our level of awareness - or consciousness - either raises or lowers our energetic vibration as an individual. If we are all interconnected, then our individual vibration affects how we vibrate as a human collective - and so the state of consciousness of the human collective shifts.
We humans are microcosms existing in the macrocosm that is the Universe. Being comprised of the same vibrating substance of potentiality, we are of and the same as everything that is conscious. It is from this concept, that the metaphor of us humans as gardens emerged.
Our bodies encompass a range of diverse terrains, all of which harbour our unlimited potential. Through introspection, study, inquiry, feeling, effort, and play, we allow ourselves to navigate our way through them and experience healing. These are pathways back to being. Pathways based on the vast array of both ancient and modern wisdom practices that utilise action - or non-action - in order to transform our inner worlds, and ultimately our outer worlds.
Bodygardeners brings you various containers such as retreats, courses, classes, and bespoke events that draw in experts from different healing modalities. The path of healing ourselves is not linear and here, we appreciate the need for integrating various approaches into the journey to help support ourselves as best we can. Through collaboration, we hope to embrace our human interconnectedness and understand the need for complimentary wisdom practices, as well as feel how they support one another.
We hope that our offerings educate and empower you to build, tend, grow, and enjoy the beauty of your bodygarden, that is YOU, by connecting with a deeper truth and sense of freedom within so that you find the liberation that is your birthright. Furthermore, we hope that they help you intricately relate and find ways to effectively be with others and their bodygardens in a sacred way that is healing for our greater human family.
